“Strut on, life will happen.”~ Vanessa Pardo, NYC born Dominican-Ecuadorian, Psychologist in training with a Masters Degree in Education.
I met Vanessa on a January morning in 2012 while we both attended a monthly New York City Latina Writer’s Group meeting.
When we first met I have to say she was not overly friendly; Vanessa always has her guard up but once you get to know her, she is one hell of a friend! She is loyal, she has your back and she gives you everything she has and then some. You can always count on her no matter what.
Meeting after meeting we became closer, throughout our writing we built a strong bond that has developed into a sisterhood.
She has been a big supporter of Canvas of Words and Wendy Angulo Productions.
She was part of the first Canvas of Words as one of the Emerging Poets.
One of the many things I admire of Vanessa is her determination and tenacity to achieve what she wants in life and become who she wants to be. She is focused, takes her time and yet when things don’t work the way she wants she doesn’t beat herself up, she keeps moving or as she always says “she struts on”.
Vanessa is one of the featured artists of my company and although she still in the beginning stages of her career I have no doubt that she will shortly become the type of artist you will want to know about.
