Nancy Arroyo-Ruffin- Day 26- 31daysofWomen

“Women are strong, resilient, relentless, beings. When all women realize how much power we truly have and release how we are perceived and defined by others, we will take over the world.” ~ Nancy Ruffin, Wife, Mother, Award Winning Author, Poet and Motivational Speaker.

I met Nancy back in the Fall of 2011 at Jenning Medina’s First Year Anniversary of the release of “Fourth & Life”.
Nancy is one of those women that you noticed when she walks into a room, her style is on point always and she greets everyone with a sweet smile. That night she was one of the guest readers at the event. I bought her book “Welcome to Heartbreak” and the next day I spent my morning and afternoon reading her book and writing side notes. My favorite part of that book and what touched me the most was her honesty while telling the story of her heart wrenching desire of becoming a mother and not being able to, as a mother and woman I understood her pain, the best gift a woman can have is being a mother.
A few months after meeting her and reading her book, she announced that she was expecting and I still remember reading that post and tearing as I read, I felt so much happiness for her and decided to message her to congratulate her and let her know that although we did not know each other much by reading her book it was as if we knew each other for long and that I was absolutely happy for her. From that moment on Nancy and I started developing a friendship.

One of the things I admire of Nancy is how supportive she is of those who dream and work hard to achieve their dreams. She will always be that person who will encourage you, who will refer you to those in her network that can help you move a step further to achieve your dream. Nancy has been a great supporter of my dreams, she was part of the first Canvas of Words, she was also one of the first artists to be part of Wendy Angulo Productions, twice she invited me to feature me as guest reader for one of her event and for the book release of her second book “Letters to my Daughter”; she shared with me her idea of The Fierce Woman and I supported her to launch and host the first event not only as her Friend, Manager at the time but also as one of the “guest” speakers. It was my first time as a panelist and I enjoyed the experience fully. I supported and still do this project because I believe in Nancy and her dream and most important her passion to empower women. This is an organization that for us women is imperative to have and be connected to. (For more information www. Thefiercewoman.com ).
Nancy, as well as being supportive, continuously gives back to the community whether by setting fundraisers, donating her time in schools, giving opportunities to emerging artists or by spreading the word of projects you are part of and that help the development of the arts in our communities. For her it is important to give back, be involve with our communities and help them grow. She is the most supportive woman you’ll ever know and one you should have by your side.
Nancy is a fierce woman who has accomplished everything she wanted in life and will continue to do so because she is passionate and determined.
