She is an active activist, writer, poet, performer, humanitarian and self proclaimed revolution. Meriam has performed her poetry at over 20 State and City Colleges throughout the country and at famous local venues in NYC such as The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Camaradas, La Pregunta Arts, Capicu Poetry & Cultural Showcase, to name a few.
Meriam co-produced, co-wrote and performed in the highly successful production of Soledad Speaks: A Spoken Word Journey this past October 2013, for Latino Heritage Month. She was also part of the workshop production of I Was Born, a one woman play written by Alicia Anabel Santos.
Meriam is the author of the independently published book “Adelina’s Perfect Girl”; a never before told story of young, raw, gut-wrenching, blinding love. This coming-of-age novel takes place on the gritty streets of New York City at the dawn of the 21st century. Along with the newly completed sequel; “When She Was My King”, which is currently going through the editing process. Meriam is also working on a 3rd novel titled “Chocolate Saved My Life.” She is also launching this November her first online business “Vintage in the making”, www.vintageinthemaking.com.
She is a member of the Canvas of Words Poetry Tour that kicks off January 2015.
